Well, it’s a very happy belated birthday to this blog!
8 July 2013 was as normal a day as any other, except I had this persistent thought. Continue reading “4 years of A Tolkienist’s Perspective!”
A blog for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien, from complete beginners to avid enthusiasts, exploring the author's imaginary world, influential writing and cinematic adaptations.
Well, it’s a very happy belated birthday to this blog!

Exactly two years and five months ago, on 8 July 2013, this blog published its first post. Back then, nothing could have convinced me I’d get past 10, let alone 1000 followers.
Well, technically I should say we’re “over 1000 followers” but I’ll let it stand at that. Continue reading “1000 Followers!”
It’s been almost a month since I’ve written any posts.
I’m still here. I’m still a fan of Tolkien, the films and literature in general. I love writing and am still reading books whilst pondering new posts.
It just so happens that Time has a rather cheeky way of getting in the way.
We’re heading towards December, and the Festive spirit is catching on. I’m waiting for my physical copy of The Battle of the Five Armies extended edition to arrive. Not only to re-watch it, but to binge on the appendices material.
In the meantime, some other real-life issues will be requiring my attention, but that won’t stop me from coming back to this blog to express my love for Middle-earth.
As we speak, I have already several posts planned for the next month and will hopefully be providing you company as we head towards Christmas and the New Year.
Until then, take care.
I’ve had the honour of being nominated for this award by both Sourcerer and The Leather Library.
Whilst deeply thanking them for it, here is how this works.
It’s been exactly one year since I wrote my first post for this blog (‘The Journey Begins!’).
Back then I was uncertain how things would develop and I certainly couldn’t see myself still writing about Tolkien 12 months later.
Many thanks to Raelea Hiller for inviting me to join the Writing Process Blog Tour! I’ve never done anything like this, so I’m honoured to have been chosen to be a part of the experience.
Raelea’s blog The Starlit Forest is a haven for people fascinated by poetry and novel writing. Her style of writing is unparalleled and her posts reveal the formation of a brilliant author that will undoubtedly rise through the ranks of acclaimed writers.
So, thanks once again Raelea! 🙂
Now, onto answering some questions …
(It’s the return of the Stick Figures! – and yes, that’s me hard at work typing these responses – see the tongue sticking out? Intense!)
Many thanks to all of you who – in some way or other – commented to this post: Who am I?
There were some very interesting questions, as well as intriguing Middle-earth topics I shall be dealing with in the near future.
In the meantime, I’ve gathered people’s query’s from WordPress and Twitter and gave my best (and honest) response to each 😉
Nothing to do with Les Miserables …
In less than a month’s time, A Tolkienist’s Perspective will be celebrating its one year anniversary since starting this blog … crazy I know. Continue reading “Who am I? (Plus, Feedback Wanted!)”
Well what can I say? I’ve thanked all of you kind people when I reached the 200+ mark (just over 3 months ago). But it seems I can’t thank you enough (so clichéd, I know).
But truth be told, I’m very grateful for all your support – no matter how little it is. Continue reading “We have reached 500+ followers! (…’Thank You’ poem attached)”
A Tolkienist’s Perspective, is pleased to announce the launch of its new channel on YouTube.
We have come a long way since it’s creation and it is high time to expand to further the scope of this blog – sharing our love for Tolkien’s works. Continue reading “Launching new YouTube Channel!”
