Over the last couple of days, news has emerged that the publication of Beren and Lúthien, the new Tolkien book, has been pushed back and will now be released on June 1st.
Originally intended for a May publication, there has not yet been any official statement on what has caused this delay.
One can only speculate.
Perhaps it was a last-minute session of corrections or additions to the text. Perhaps, the push towards a June release would make for a better marketing strategy in selling the book.
Whatever the reasons, us Tolkien fans will have to wait an extra month before getting our hands on this Great Tale (it’s not like we don’t know what’s going to happen!) and hope that the final book is as fantastic as our expectations have led us to believe.
Shame about the delay, but it’s not terribly long.
who knows — maybe their distributor had a backlog or their press had some logistics issue …
I had heard that Beren and Luthien were going to be getting a book of their own. If it is as beautiful and interesting as the Narn I Chin Hurin, I am excited. I just discovered your site today and am very impressed, having been a Tolkien fan for some time.
I would like to invite you to check out my own website, The Multinumerous Files, at http://www.multinumerous.wordpress.com. It’s not a particularly impressive site, but I have written on Tolkien, and even wrote a short play adapting part of Akallabeth as drama. Thanks for your time, and keep up the good work!
That really, really, REALLY, stinks!!!!
Eh it’s tough, true. But hey! Let’s look on the bright side … just over a month till release 😀
