In the likely case you’re not going ahead and purchasing the ridiculously-priced Limited Collector’s Edition, there’s always the cheaper version.
Browsing through the endless digital bookshelves on Amazon, I just stumbled upon the ‘Middle Earth – Six Film Collection Extended Edition’ which is basically a 30-disc box set of both trilogies in their extended format.
Brilliant.
The glimpse we have of the artwork looks gorgeous and, according to Amazon UK, it is currently available for pre-order and will be released on 31 October.
That’s just 3 days from now!
Now this is a box set worth considering a purchase … what do you think?
People who do not live in Europe should take note that this set is region-coded and won’t run in, say, the USA without a region-free player.
Wowowow. But I don’t know if I would buy it for myself. But I also don’t run a blog called The Tolkienist Perspective.
Of course, I meant “A Tolkienist’s Perspective.” I am currently listening to the soundtrack for The Desolation of Smaug, so that had to count for something, right?
Gotcha 😉
For that price? Hell yes. I don’t need a companion book and I already have all the LoR-related statues I want, so… 31 discs included 6 extended films? I’d do that.
You encourage me Robert, thanks 🙂
I don’t have a bluray player, but if I had I would definetly be considering it! 🙂
Also… I just wanted to tell you that I have nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award! https://tolkienreadthrough.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/sunshine-blogger-award/
I’m honoured … thanks Lisa! Will pre a post soon 😉
Neat! But far from worth it for me. I already ha e the beautiful original Extended Editions of LOTR, and frankly have not been enough a fan of The Hobbit movies to want to own them.
