… “herculean” I should rather say.
Yes, I’ve promised a “‘The Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy Review” and I’m currently finding myself ploughing through the enormity of personal thoughts and critical analyses contained within ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’.
I’m barely 40 minutes into the story (the extended edition, mind you) and I’ve already written a handful of pages – examining details, filming and narrative techniques, emotions, perceptions, anything you can mention. I’m seriously considering splitting each film’s review into a series of posts rather than a massive chunk of text … then again, it wouldn’t be a proper “review” if it weren’t all summed up into one, or three, distinct articles.
Time to speed up things and deliver the three-part review by end of November (leaving appropriate time and space for the lead up to ‘The Desolation of Smaug’ in December).
In the meantime, I’ll be posting a few other articles which I’ve left simmering for a bit – ready to be posted for just such an occasion. 🙂
